Blancpain bathyscaphe is fantastic! I have the flyback chrono and it’s killer. Plenty of wrist presence.
The steel version fits your budget, and I can confirm that the sailcloth is without equal. I hear the natos are top notch also.

I'd add something in white. I know you said you already had an ExII, was it a polar? It has a great presence in white, in the modern size.
