if it is the lug it could be a latch system that opens like a clamp with hooded fixed endlinks for the strap.

with a quick release and outward not inward mid link fixed, however it appears lugs would be drilled so maybe it isnt quick release but the old pin trick for quick removal:

I have to admit I might be wrong about a straight endlink. The more I look at it the more it looks like a part within an endlink since the part I’ve ringed in red isn’t the lug but would seem to be part of the bracelet (or whatever it actually is) from the shape of how they fit together.

I did not know this. I liked the quick change on my 312 when I had it, but this is ridiculous...

Looks to me like rivet bracelet link and the clasp.

I hope it's a modern watch release like the Pelagos vs heritage inspired/focused. I slightly smaller, modern professional diver would compliment the Pelagos very well imo. I think quick release is modern and what i'd like to see or at least hope

I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the forthcoming Sub and instead is related to a totally different model.

I agree - might be totally unrelated. I still don’t see how mixing a modern quick release system into a Heritage type watch, such a Sub would be, makes any actual sense.

Is Tudor gonna steal the “bang for buck” trophy for the second year in a row?

+1 There must be something big with a new strap/strap quick release system... I find it difficult to change straps and bracelets on my Black bay.. I´m sure I am not the only one and I am sure Tudor knows...

You’d have thought Rolex would introduce one then since they have the same bracelet fixing unchanged for years. As do most other watches with end links. They’re not difficult to change at all provided you use a proper tool. Can even be done with a small screwdriver so long as your careful.

Just a WAG, but it could be a clasp lock with a trigger release.

Why must a new Submariner be a Heritage release though. I'm hoping it's a modern watch like the Pelagos and North Flag are. In that case no reason why Tudor can't go full press diver with the Pelagos clasp and a quick change strap system. If anything I'd argue Rolex would do the quick strap system at Tudor to experiment
