118238 white dial discontinued?

Is the day date 118238 not available to purchase new from ADs? Forgive me if this is old news, can’t seem to really find any clear answer to this. I’m looking specifically for the white dial and sticks. Can anyone shed any light on this? With Covid, I can’t pick up the phone and call my AD :(

Current production ref is 128238. So unless it’s old stock don’t think it’s gonna come at you new. Upside you save money? The new movement and ceramic pins are worth it on the new ones IMHO.

If you are referring to the modern 36 mm daydate currently in production, they are not currently making a 36 mm white dial with sticks. The only normal-ish current production 36 mm daydate (without diamonds and such) is a silver dial. I believe this is what their website shows.

Got it, thanks guys. The white dial with sticks really speaks to me so I guess I’ll have to find it preowned or old stock if that’s possible...

I looked at a yellow gold with white dial w/ lume sticks this past summer in Vegas at the Bellagio. They also had a yellow gold with the green dial and lume sticks as well which was cool but that one sold while I was there that week.

Was it new from an AD or preowned?

It was new from the AD within the Bellagio. I almost went for that one, but instead got a different one from another AD in Vegas (rose gold with rhodium dial w/ stick markers).

Actually I have another question sorry. Since it was a model that was no longer in production, do you think the AD would have been into any sort of discount or negotiation? Never really knew how that would go for the ones that are no longer in production..

There was no discounting from any of the Vegas AD’s when I was there at the time last summer. It was MSRP or bust. It did not matter to them that it was a “discontinued” model and in fact most wouldn’t acknowledge that it was “last years model”. To them, it was a brand new Rolex Day Date still. In fact Rolex was still shipping these 36’s with the lume dials to them at the time so they weren’t depleted from stock yet.

Small town dealers might discount if you can find one that still has one.
