What for Daytona in 2020

So I was speaking to a friend of mine back early in November who is the Lead Rolex Rep at my local Goldsmiths (UK). She called about about a BLNR she'd taken as a Trade-in (I wasn't interested)... and as our conversation continued, she mentioned about how the Branch Manager had recently returned from a visit to Rolex HQ and informed her of 3 notable things to me:

1) A price increase would happen before year end (but didn't know when)

2) Rolex Daytona TT would be discontinued

3) Rolex Daytona PM would all transition to Ceramic Bezels

On point 1, I saw this as entirely plausible and indeed this has recently been flooding the forum.

On points 2 & 3 I guess only time will tell. I've seen nothing anywhere else to suggest the same, but I have no reason to doubt what she has been informed. I also have nothing to gain by her telling me these 3 snippets of information either.

I was wondering if anyone else out there had heard anything on item 2 or 3 above?

Both seem plausible and 3 almost the logical next step.

No need for smart-arse crystal ball comments. I was just curious if anyone else might have heard similar from their AD/Rolex contacts?

I genuinely thought this might get at least one considered response. No takers?!

I see points 2 and 3 as quite plausible. Two tone with ceramic bezel makes no sense as it's the main gold part on the head of the watch and the full PM precious metals look awesome in ceramic bezel.

Tyngshen - I'd generally agree with this statement but I do also believe the right people do have an insight as to the direction of things to come. Point 2 above did indeed happen, 2 and 3 we will wait and see but COVID19 will surely have delayed these materialising should they be correct. As we all know, Basel won't be breaking the news!!

Simon_jrees not sure why so dismissive when we all know that the first point I made did indeed happen by the end of 2019. Only time will tell on points 2 & 3 When Rolex find a solution to announcing their 2020 updates. :)

Sammy, we wouldn't need to have a crystal ball to have predicted that price increase. However, still a great post and I'm sure everyone reading this will tell you these things are plausible so actually could have been leaked by someone...Thanks for posting, its also enjoyable to read this now that its months later and the mystery of Rolexes plans will now continue with the canceling of Basel plus all that's going on in the world...Great read, thank you!!
