Tudor PM Discount?

Hey everybody,

The Tudor S&G Chrono on the fabric strap has caught my eye. Do you think I would be able to negotiate a discount on that piece? If so, how much would you ask for?

Thanks,
Vic

Depends on the individual’s relationship with their AD. 10% is common, 20-30% less so but not unheard of.

You should definitely try to get 30-35% off especially given everything going on.

I would never even consider a Tudor sans discount, I can't believe you would even consider a PM without one.

I think they will offer 10% but you should push for 15%. I believe that's as high as they will go.

Thanks, everybody! I was thinking 10% at minimum, but really only want the piece if I can get 20-25% off. I'll see what my local ADs say.

Maybe try asking DavidSW to see if they can source one for you at a specified price.

Reality is Tudors don’t sell anywhere near as well as Rolex..... I’ve never been to a Tudor AD and not seen all of their models available except for the GMT, 58, and maybe the S&G chrono. At this moment I have no doubt you can get a minimum of 15-20% off that watch. More if you’re tight with the AD.

Definitely request a discount. I would say 10 or 20% is a fair deal.

The problem with Jomashop is that they retain the plastic Tudor warranty card and replace it with their in-house warranty. Not having the original card will notably decrease value when/if the watch is later sold. This goes for Rolex they sell too.

They do it with Omega too. It's easy to see what grey dealers are selling watches obtained from them.

Yep, I learned my lesson the hard way on that one

Luckily it was a lower priced watch (Seiko) but still

I was able to speak to one AD, who is not offering a discount on Tudor sadly.

Anyone care to share their favorable AD to work with for a Tudor discount? Would love to give someone my business for this watch!

I'll parrot everyone else and note and that a discount should be easy to achieve on a two-tone Tudor of "meh" popularity.

But is there a reason you're so determined to go through an AD? You're going to pay more that way, and it seems like your goal here is to get the price down.

Oh sure, that is a good Q. My thinking was it'd be smart to go through an AD to get the warranty card and everything. I figure if I can get 20% from an AD, it will be in the same ballpark as going through someplace like Jomashop.

I think he may be suggesting one of the forums "trusted sellers", its worth a shot to ask them if your comfortable doing business that way of course.

You're unlikely to find an AD who can match the grey-market price on a less popular item -- ADs have more overhead costs. And if you wanted a factory warranty from Joma, they'd almost certainly charge you a bit extra for it, too.

You go through an AD because you're more comfortable with it, because you want to build a relationship with an AD, or because you want the "AD experience." If none of those applies to you, you'll save money on the secondary market. As Ballzzz noted, several "trusted sellers" can be found through this forum. But there's nothing wrong with preferring to buy from an AD.

And it's worth noting that if your goal is to save as much money as possible, then you'll almost certainly do better if you wait a month or two. Luxury products get more accessible and less expensive when the economy is weak.

My AD will do 20% on any Tudor except the BB58 and maybe GMT (not sure about the GMT), but they are shut down right now like pretty much everywhere else.

Thanks, everybody. I think the move will be to wait for the economy to re-open, and talk to some more ADs... while also keeping an eye on Trusted Sellers here. I really appreciate the help!

Sounds like a great idea asking for a discount, the world is in chaos right now and ADs need to make money.
Go for it I would start off asking for 20% and see what their counter will be but no less than 10%
Good luck
