Agreed the watch is absolute JUNK. Worth $10 at best. Certainly not 4K

His are parallel, mine have a slope or "hump".

The first one is the OTs Hulk (marked area red), the others are a SD50, BLRO, SKY-D. and a couple of 2020 and one 2019 Daytona. You be the judge or show me your clasps:

Maybe its just me but the variation in the quality of the clasp engraving for various rolex models is striking! Is it poor quality control at rolex or just the magnification and angle of the pictures?

Since you have a sub, it should be pretty obvious by operating the crown on the hulk.

Or just go up to Rick’s post a few above this and you’ll have your answer.

grey dealers know that this watch is in demand, and are more than happy to charge a premium.

ADs know that it's in demand, and are more than happy to do shady bundling deals.

those who know the market, stand to get rewarded for it.
if you don't know or don't care about the watch market, then you could lose out.

just the way a capital market works.

Weirdest post. How can anyone not know about how much a Rolex is worth or to make it run. Just spent 2 minutes on the web you have all the answers.

You're a horrible friend OP because you know what that watch is worth. You may be trying to get a good deal but that is just the lowest of low balls and I myself love a bargain... Shame on you. Also it looks fake so you are also ripping yourself off. Sheesh...

It's not enough.

Might prove it has a genuine Rolex movement, but not necessary a Hulk. It's starting to get pretty common for some to swap out standard bezels and dials of genuine subs for those of unicorns, either to save money or to command a better price.

Only way is to ask Rolex to confirm what it was delivered with originally...

SOoO many watches, SOoO little time...

It's not a lie if you believe it.
Presumably because you don't want similar-looking but nevertheless pretend crap with awful pretend movement? That clasp etching is atrocious. How could somebody want to fold that onto their wrist?

Actually, that's on me, much of the variation is due to my lack of photography skills. When I look at them in "real life", they actually all look very much alike.

I believe it is actually a rule of RolexForum that we don’t discuss specifics of fake watches. Not sure how well enforced it is, but I do believe it is for the reason mentioned - not giving advice to fakers looking to perfect their “craft.” Seems pretty logical. We’re constantly navigating through fraudsters and fake watches in our hobby. Why provide the “bad guys” more ammo?

As far as this watch, I am about as far from an expert as one can get, and I would bet a decent sum of money that bezel is not genuine. Per the above, I won’t mention why, but there are two characteristics of the bezel markings that jump out to me. There is also a potential issue with the dial and the rehaut that would not be typical of a genuine Rolex.

Given those items,, and the backstory, my money would be on the whole watch being fake.

Here’s a really good pic of one. If you can figure out why the one you want is no good, you shouldn’t but outside of an AD.

With friends like that!

I don't know how deep this rabbit hole goes - is the friend trying to scam the OP by offering him a piece with unknown provenance for 4k euros, a cheap price to hope he doesn't do his due diligence? then when OP finds out its fake OP says 'well you tried to scam me on the price' Who is scamming who? I hope we get a resolution to this one.

Interesting that fakes are so good that they can spur on 4 pages of discussion.
