I truly appreciate all the replies.

The TTSD just has this adventurous look about it. Looks like a tank, but with a gold touch makes that me think of it being like treasure from a sunken ship. Probably a dumb thought, but it does. I thought it before I ever even saw this write-up https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/di...steel-and-gold

I have a perhaps slightly below average wrist size. Something like 6.5” or so. My Tudor Black Bay 36mm doesn’t look tiny, but my Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon that’s a 44mm x 16.5mm doesn’t look at all outrageous either—anything bigger is just obnoxious. The GMT size is just about perfect.

Regarding the glidelock being a novelty, I really don’t think it would end up being one for me. I think almost every day how the GMT’s bracelet would be perfect if it had one. My wrist size seems to fluctuate a good bit. I live in a climate that’s very hot typically, so that’s probably why I feel like my wrist size is changing. If I sleep in a watch, I like for it to be very loose, so being able to get it exactly right sounds very attractive. Notwithstanding the glidelock, I’m guessing the jubilee bracelet is overall more flexible and consequently probably more comfortable as a result. It’s also worth noting I don’t find the jubilee too dainty or feminine; it fits my style perfectly.

How I’m seeing the prospect is that I could trade up my watch I got for $9,250 to a $16,600 one that has really caught my eye as soon as I actually looked at a picture that wasn’t just the catalog one. It’s not just the price difference that has me hooked.

In five years or less, there’s just no way that the supply of Pepsi GMTs or people willing to pay the crazy premium for them will continue to be where it’s at, meaning this is a finite opportunity. The bubble will burst. It’s kind of like trading stocks. Buy low, sell high. After there’s a price correction, get back in if desired. Let’s say I have the TTSD a couple years and want the GMT back, even if the TTSD secondary price has gone down a little, I imagine the GMT’s grey market price will likely have also gone down to where I could do at least an even trade back—maybe even make a little profit.

Don’t get me wrong; I truly do love my Pepsi. I know I would miss it. I’m wowed by it all the time. I’m constantly looking down at it and feeling so lucky to own it. Nonetheless, I overthink about options always and wonder if something else could bring greater satisfaction, particularly in this case where it comes to being an either-or sort of thing. I should be married next Summer, and while my wife-to-be knows I love nice things, I don’t know how easy it will be to explain a $16k watch purchase to her as she’s quite frugal, hence why I see this as my opportunity to be able to get this watch now while it’s still an relatively easily attainable piece for me due to Pepsi market prices. My luxury watch buying days may end with her. So, I’ll need to play my cards wisely now (either hold or trade) in case I don’t get another watch around that price point for long time. Then again, maybe she’d be cool about it. Time will tell; no pun intended.

All this is rambling, both talking myself in and out of it. Hearing your thoughts and experiences really does help.

If you have any personal pictures of the 126603 to share, especially if you’ve really worn it (e.g. showing everyday wear), I’d really love to see that. There don’t seem to be a ton of candid pictures available for it.
