Up to the individual watchmaker to decide, within these 'guidelines'. I am usually pretty strict and often say that it needs replacement where other watchmakers might not. |

The threads on my Grandmother's 1987 TTDJ are crisp. She rarely wears it enough that it stays wound, so it gets a winding rather frequently.
