I won’t buy any watch that has anything ceramic on it. Period.

And yes, I own both; Blancpain does it best.
I would love to know more a about what it meant “forces cosmetic”?

I'm definitely not on the same boat as you, I'll be slicing my own bread here.. I do have and like both of mine (Sub, Blnr) with ceramic bezels but they actually made me appreciate aluminum bezels more. I was ready to pull the trigger on a new Planet Ocean recently with their liquid metal bezel insert which i believe to be better than ceramic for a few reasons but after comparing it to a few years older model with the aluminum bezel that became my choice. I've never had a bad experience of a cracked bezel, its just aesthetically for me. I also have a pre ceramic 5 digit Sub and Gmt and if it came down to it they are the keepers.

All about variety

My watch collections has aluminium. Ceramic. Steel . Gold bezels

I like variety and not side any bezels

No such thing as best and each gives a different feel to the wearer

Ceramic is the most modern! It also looks more vibrant in sunlight. The Ceramic Bezels make these watches a little cleaner from a distance and stands out a little more especially in the Hulk, Blnr and Blro! The Black Ceramic Bezels will keep the watches a little fresher as the years go by. It’s the evolutionary in the Rolex Line.

Absolutely not. And I prefer my bread whole and crusty, so I can break it with my hands.

Geez this is polarizing in opinion always. I don't understand the two extremes. One I will only buy ceramic because it's so modern and the other that ceramic is out of date and worthless and will shatter when used as a tool. I'm sure there are many in the middle that are the vocal minority though.

I just appreciate both. I love my 116610LN with Ceramic since the bezel inlay and sapphire are basically scratch proof in normal casual wear. Love my 116520 with a polished steel bezel too. Steel really is the perfect bezel for a sports watch though. Applied luminous paint on a dive bezel made of brushed SS would be pretty perfect. Same with the Explorer 2. Maybe Rolex has that in store with the next refresh of it.

Now aluminum, that's a material better left for soda cans. Perhaps that's why Pepsi and Coke were called so. Time for me to duck and cover

I have both.

To me the aluminum has depth and transparency which I find attractive in many ways, it will age naturally and is more appealing to me.

The ceramic looks rigid, rock hard, solid, shiny. They say will not develop a patina over time.

I guess if you want a new reference you will be living with the ceramic.

Could not go back unless there was a new way to make the glossy black color.
