Explorer - Confused
I am looking to buy an early explorer and have found one here
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=280326260127 but according to my research the model no. 1002 is for an oyster perpeptual not an explorer or am I missing something. any comments gratefully received. |

Hi Mcjp6,
Similar conversation on the same era watch is here, might help http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=39538 (not sure if you've found that thread?) Cheers, Dave.

Thanks for that Dave.
Well according to the photos the numbers do check out OK, my worry now after reading that thread is that that model is heavily faked! I don't have the experience to determine that, so now do I buy or not? He does offer a return policy and no negative feedback. I am tempted - any other comments would be very gratefully received! thanks - Michael |

With that serial number it is a 1960 model...that makes it 49 years old...must have spent it's formulative years in a safe...
