Pepsi and Daytona would be my vote.

I would buy the one you like best and wear it. If it works, then that is all you need. If having that watch creates a need for another watch, consider adding one then. To build a "final" collection at the outset really makes no sense to me as you do not know how the watches will work together or which watches will even be needed given the others.

The Bottom option. You have the best selling Rolex in the world (Datejust), you have the most important chronograph in history (Speedmaster), and an all-terrain (Explorer II)

I will vote bottom for a few reasons. First and most importantly, it seems you think you would get more use from that choice. Second, I may stand alone on this, but I strongly prefer the Speedmaster (hesalite) to the Daytona. I also think the Explorer II is fantastic (though I don't own one yet).

Not even a competition, top and a Fenix 6.
The problem with the top is just a tiny problem of availability. |

Exactly my sentiments. Coveted watches usually don't work for me.

Not a fair comparison because the options have different price valuations. Option 1 will obviously garner more attention psychologically as the perceived value is undoubtedly influenced by the market value (even at a subconscious level).
In the context of the watches that you currently own, option 2 makes a little more sense as it adds something more dressy (the DJ), something sporty with a nice white dial (polar exp 2), and a timeless classic chronograph (speedy) to your current watch collection. In my opinion, another option you could consider is the idea of upgrading, more specifically you could replace your Tudor BB GMT with the Pepsi. Then add a chrono (could start with speedy and then upgrade later to white daytona, or just jump straight to daytona) and that way you could also get the DJ versus the polar exp 2, thereby adding 3 to your collection incorporating the pepsi in place of the tudor gmt.

Top all day long at MSRP, but that's going to happen. So I would go bottom. Funnily enough I picked those three watches as an alternative to a Daytona the other day (see below). Add the GMT into the mix and you could add a couple more to the list.
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...6#post10801096 "Personally, I would just buy Grey if I wanted it enough, but first I would take a step back and see if I really wanted it, or if I just fell into the hype. I'd buy a Polar Explorer to scratch the white dial itch, a Moonwatch for the Chrono, and a Sub or a Datejust for the hell of it. Still walk away with some change and not have to play silly games with an AD or pay way over MSRP" |

The decision order would be:
TOP is you can get it within a reasonable timeframe say less 6 months..(else you could be waiting for years) BOTTOM is you can wait it out. My only comment is the TOP option they are both Sports watches...I think a Daytona C and SkyD would be the grail sport and formal combo. Sent from my EVR-L29 using Tapatalk |

Wanting and getting are two different things.
Want the top but getting the bottom would be perfectly fine with me. Have the Speedy, looking for the right Explorer and inching closer to ordering the blue DJ. |

All great watches but between your choices, I’d pick the BLRO and 116500

As it happens, I went to check out the Blue DJ36 as featured in the bottom row yesterday. The reason I had chosen the blue option in the original post was that the white dial DJ36 features roman numerals and I prefer the stick dial. The 36 felt far too small for me, so if I was to acquire the 41, I could in fact get the white dial w batons which would tick a few of the boxes I'm looking to cover...
I probably should've added in the original post that my current collection consists of Sub Date, Explorer and Seamaster. Tudor GMT also in the collection, but I'm undecided if I should get rid of this after receiving it back from a date wheel warranty repair. Thanks for replies everyone - as expected, the Pepsi and Daytona seems to be most preferred. Some amazing photos from those who posted! |
