I agree. For the in-demand pieces, it really is who you know and your relationship forged with the SA or better yet, the owner of the AD. A "wait" list for walk-ins, although possibly true, does not mean it gets honored in that order as they are usually bumped by VIPS. And to be clear, VIPS can be both big spenders and loyal, long-time customers who might just purchase one item every few years from the AD. To the OP, great story, great watch. An all-timer!
