Datejust by Diver Omega?
I know it's comparing pears with apples, but I wish that even though they are very different they would make an effort and respond to me.
Would you trade a 36mm Datejust for an Omega Ploprof? Enviado desde mi SM-G973F mediante Tapatalk |

I personally am not a fan of the ploprof! I would trade it with a timex!

Depends on what other watches you own, but generally I'd say no.
The datejust is a classic and the Ploprof is a watch you coule potentially get tired of once the novelty wore off.

No. I mean whats the appeal of that if you are not a professional diver-and even then there are far better looking watches out there. The DJ is one of the most versatile and classic watches out there. Just because you can make a trade, does not mean you should. The bizzare design on that omega-i mean the novelty will wear off fast, and then what are you left with? A strange and heavy watch that is rather clunky on the wrist.
This is a lesson many need to learn. Because one buys a high end watch, one can always trade it toward another and that feels good because its like getting something new, but the feeling wears off quick my friends. Take it from someone in the game since the 80's, there is not a single watch that I have not contemplated flipping or trading for another. One needs to go after watches that are classic not trendy and watches that have some meaning or story, otherwise one just keeps flipping and is constantly dissatisfied with what they have and always looking at the next acquisition. |

That's an 80/90s Datejust right? The value of the Omega is higher so do what is best for you.
I really like the ploprof but it's too huge for me to wear so if you can pull it off. |

If the DJ was a regularly worn watch then no way. If you have another watch or watches that can fill in for a DJ style watch and want a Proplof for when the mood strikes then yes. It's a very cool and extreme dive watch that's easier to wear than it looks.

I really like the omega and and bracelet. Having said that, i remember that you have owned your Datejust for many years, I am afraid you might regret the trade. But who knows!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a Ploprof and I LOVE it!!! The bracelet and clasp are fantastic. You can swap it onto an orange rubber strap and make a completely new look.
It wears well and is well balanced. I like a nice big watch and find it comparable to the DSSD as far as comfort. BUT the question you ask is pretty odd!!! You are asking if you should trade your Lexus for a Monster Truck! Value wise they are probably similar. If you love the Omega then maybe not such a bad plan. You will have trouble selling the Ploprof in the future so make sure you love it. Good luck!!!!!

On a casual basis, no.
However, there is one scenario in which one might consider this trade. If a person is a big-time Omega fan, and is trying to complete a historic Seamaster collection, I can see the appeal for that person. DJs are classic and essential for the watch enthusiast, but are also readily available...another can be found easily if wanted at a later time. Ploprofs are not impossible to source, but are almost certainly more limited in number than DJs. |

I like both watches but I don't think I would trade one for the other. They are two very different categories for me. Unless of course you just don't wear the Datejust anymore and you are looking at getting something that would get more wrist time. Then I say better to have something that you will wear versus something just collecting dust in your watchbox.

Um. No.
I'm not really a DJ guy but that PloProf is a really unattractive watch. |

Maybe if it was the PloProf + the cash value of your DJ. In other words, NO, I wouldn't do it!

If you gave me the ploprof for free, with the caveat that I had to actually wear it, I would not accept it.

The Datejust frankly is worth less than the Ploprof. I don't even care about the value, I think the Ploprof is an AWESOME watch and will own one soon myself.
I'd do it, but only if you have other watches, as the ploprof isn't a daily.
