Watch Diversification

Always been a Rolex person and been a bit too blinkered to give anything else the time of day. The way Rolex has been going hasn’t impressed me too much. I don’t blame the AD’s, it’s just supply and demand, but it’s led me to start diversifying and I’m glad I did. I’ve got the Rolex watches I want, more likely to buy other brands going forward.

Nice collection, Stephen. What other brands have caught your fancy recently?

The VC and AP are great additions and a nice step up to Rolex. You have a great diverse sports watch line now!

Glad you got out of the Rolex bubble, I have a friend that only collects Rolex sports references and always says to me every other watch is "ugly" when I try to engage with him about other brands, super narrowmided and ignorant

Very nice collection, all good watches that look great and work well for everyday wear.

Funny, I started out Rolex, moved into Patek, then into high end independent watchmaking. Now, I basically just wear a Rolex Milgauss or a Seamaster, most of my high end watches have been sold or just live in my watch box.

Good for you, I never understood the single brand focus honestly.

There’s a lot of good stuff out there and I think more and more people are now looking more broadly given how difficult it has become to find a Rolex, Patek, AP etc.

I wonder how long before you add something on a strap which is less “sporty”?

And just to add; nice line up. There’s a decent amount of variety there even if everything looks similar to the lay person.

That is a wonderful collection. So well balanced between brands and the different looks of each watch. I think it is time to put the finishing touches on it with a nice dress watch!

Great line up! Nothing wrong with knowing yourself and being totally into sports watches. Only consider something on a strap if it really fits your style and what you really like. But we’ll done so far!

Thanks everyone, I’m very happy with where I am watch wise right now. Taken a time to get here - I would say ‘that’s it, I’m done’ but truth is I’d be lying to you all and myself. Very few of us are ever done, if we are then great, but what I love about this hobby is tastes change, new watches come out and we go again

I’m a big fan of Blancpain and was close to a lovely blue FF recently but it didn’t happen. One day maybe. I know it’s my newest acquisition, but right now I’m blown away with the quality of AP. I’m sure I won’t stop at one.

I think so much of the single brand focus lately with Rolex is based on value if I’m honest. You buy a Rolex and yOUR £ or $ is safe, maybe even worth more, so people are buying for the wrong reasons. It’s a shame.

I wear the VC on rubber and leather very often, Though I guess it still looks slightly sporty.

I often consider less sporty watches, just haven’t committed as of yet. Like the fifty six and a few of the pateks.

Very nice collection! I have the only rolex I'm really interested in and it may surprise some but it's a lowly old DJ36. Have zero other rolex models on my radar, some are great of course but I can find an alternative I like better for every model and they're actually available.

Nice collection! I too love Rolex but don't see myself purchasing another any time soon (due to market conditions lol).

Hope you don't mind me posting my collection!
