Tudor Submariner 79190 (Full Package) or Rolex Submariner 14060m
Hi all,
I want to know if given the choice between the two watches listed in the title, which one would you choose? I'm faced with a dilemma regarding the two watches. I can purchase the Tudor Submariner 79190 with box and papers in MINT condition for $7,300, or continue to look for a Rolex 14060m with box and papers around that price range. I love both watches and I know on RolexForums, there is a bias towards the Rolex, but is there any argument for the Tudor Submariner? Tudor seems to be an up and coming brand. Thanks in advance. |

I wore various Rolex watches for years. I preferred sports models which were 40mm. I have small wrists. On this forum I learned about Tudor and the Submariner models under 40mm. I now own two Tudor 75090 Submariners (36mm). My son wears the blue model while I wear the black one. They are very comfortable and accurate. Sturdy and solid as a rock. Let the naysayers be naysayers if they will. I love my Tudors.

If the Tudor is in truly mint condition, with box and papers, I'd take that for 7300. It's a nice watch, and in that condition you are probably talking maybe a couple of dozen in the world.
I would more say that vintage Tudor sports prices are dragged up by Rolex sky rocketing, the market is (and always will be) significantly smaller for Tudor. Having said that, I have two Tudors and love them :) |

I love Tudor, but for this particular showdown, the Rolex 14060m would be my pick (if the pricing is in the same ball park). Now if the Tudor Blue Snowflake becomes an option, it becomes a different conversation...

If that exact watch (condition, patina, etc) had ROLEX instead of Tudor printed on the dial, which would you choose?

I agree with this. Before the boom when I was looking at tudor those were less desired. My opinion since it looks exactly like a rolex. Snowflake at least has some unique features. At that price id rather wait on a list for a new sub no date but that'd probably take awhile
