My first piece I kept noticing fingerprints & found them annoying until I realized there were about a hundred hairline scratches. That process about a month. Now just try to minimize giving it whacks and gouges (seatbelt buckle is my nemesis) and don't worry about it much

Day one. Every time. Not deliberately trying to scratch it, but it happens.
I used to worry about it and I’d stop by my watchmaker, use his polishing wheel, and brush out the scuffs. After some time to reflect, I came to understand it does not matter. Scratches are a part of life. They can be polished out at service intervals. That’s good enough for me. YMMV.

Day 1 for me.
Get scuffs with simple activities like carrying a laptop, typing on keyboard or eating at a table with utensils. Scuffs/scratches are inevitable with regular use, similar to driving a car. |
