Pricing on used Omegas
Is it just me or pricing on popular models is going through the roof right now? I have been tracking some models I am interested in, AT 39, PO LM, PO 2500, 1863 Sapphire and have noticed that the prices are creeping up by the day.
Not only that they are actually moving very fast. I have tried to purchase 2 items on C24 and have failed both times becase the items had already sold. I don't follow other brands closely but is this the commonplace throughout the watch market nowadays? We all know the Rolex story and is not even worth talking. But used Omegas are now selling for 5K-6K (CDN) rather very quickly. Those who frequent Canadian Forum are probably nodding at this post. I think I might be priced out of Omegas very soon also |

Strange times. I think anything in demand is holding or going up these days. Try finding a mountain bike or a Kayak (maybe it's better now, IDK, I haven't checked since the summer)... You would think with a pandemic economy it would be the opposite.
I'm glad I have the PO 2500. I never imagined it would increase in value (moot point because I will never sell it). |

PO 2500 is crazy right now. 5K CDN for used beat up ones. A year ago, one dude was selling me his 8500 with spare strap for 4,000 CDN and I passed. |

I wouldn't characterize Omega pricing as through the roof. There is some increase in demand and a reflection of that in market prices of pre-owned models that are popular. A change, yes, but it doesn't seem like a really big change from what I see.

Prices will come down, like everything. Have you considered a moon watch? They’re a great value.

I guess it depends on the make, model and condition. Even if prices have increased it's really not an exaggerated increase.

I've been after a 2500, orange numeral, black bezel for a little while. Seems they've gone up 20 - 25% over the past couple months.

There were different bezels on the two different sizes of first-generation Planet Ocean models: the 42mm watch had squared-off knurling, while the 46mm model had the scalloped/pointed knurling as shown in the owner's photos.

I follow Omega on the TRF platform and through our Trusted Sellers and have noticed an increase in price on most modern models. Not by a lot but easily several hundred to short of a thousand dollars on the Sea Masters and the variations of the Speed Master. There are a lot of these watches out there though and I think it will drop back as soon as some of the hype of the new Speed Master calms down. I still think Omega is a great value compared to Rolex and will add a few examples this year to my collection.

I've really noticed a jump in price on the hotter pre-owned models lately. I'm glad I picked up my white smp 300m when I did because I would be paying ~$1K more if I waited.

Prices for models such as the Apollo 8 and NTTD also seem to be holding up well, which may not have happened in the past. |

Global banks are stimulating the economy right now. Not shocking at all that those who are best positioned to take advantage of the extra capital are driving up the price of luxury goods. Looks like Omega is going to take over the old Rolex market, and maybe Tudor will take over Omega's old spot?
