Is funny that he is wearing the vacheron overseas that I consider my grail watch, because I already have a Daytona panda.

I have wanted the Daytona for a long time. I only became interested in the dual time late last year. Hence this is my grail as I spent
3 years reading reviews on it, watching YouTube videos and reading incoming posts here.

I’m not comparing these two watches. I just happened to be wearing the VC when I was surprised by my AD with the Daytona.

They are both amazing to me in their own way and many would argue that the VC is far superior to the Daytona. But that is not the point of my post, my post was about my incoming 116600 LN.

I’m not a watch aficionado in any way, a mere
enthusiastic amateur, others can debate the merits of one vs the other. I just love both and feel very fortunate to have even just one of these.

Let me just say, the Daytona has been my grail for a long time. And I’ve only owned Rolex until now.
But that VC ....... is sensational. It just feels so refined and special.
They are both incredible.
I’ve only had the VC for 10 days and the Daytona for 4 days. Once I’ve had both for a while I will have a proper opinion.

Do you find it quite ironic that the Daytona is the subject of your thread yet so many questions about the VC at the back of the photo.

I was so close to buying an overseas recently for reasons similar to yourself im yet to really venture outside of rolex.

Yes it is ironic. I believe as long as it remains hard for people like us to get the pieces we want from Rolex, more will gravitate towards other brands.

Not long ago I had no desire to purchase from another brand. I’m not saying I only like Rolex, but I only ever wanted to buy Rolex. But as it became less likely that I would get what I wanted, I started to properly research other brands. As we all know, you can’t even find a DJ easily these days at an AD. I’m lucky in that I have a solid relationship with my AD, built up over nearly 4 years and a large spend. Without this I would be no chance of getting this Daytona or anything else that I have.

Many would be in the same boat and newcomers with little or no spend would only be able to go grey these days.

If you are keen on the overseas, I would say go for it. It really is a beautiful watch and wears really well. I’m glad I got it, and I will definitely consider VC again. Their chronograph range looks stunning.

But, I still want more Rolex too
