pulling the trigger on a 5270P

i am very close to make a decision on a 5270P. i am missing a grand complication in my collection and i feel this one is underrated and will be more appreciated long term. i feel it is a very elegant watch.

let me know what you guys think about the watch.

thanks.

Does not matter what we think. Do YOU love it? For that amount of money, you should.

I think 5270P is great.

For my two cents, I think the 5270g is one of the best PP’s. I think it represents the brand far better than any nautilus or aquanaut.

I concur with many I think the 5270P is the best watch in the entire line-up right now.

Can't miss on this one.

IMHO it’s an absolutely fantastic watch. The only reason I passed is to wait for J or R. The only problems I foresee are 1) not being able to wear 5270 in certain situations (beach etc) and 2) when it’s an appropriate situation, not wanting to wear anything else.

It is a great watch and good value for money. But wether it will be more appreciated over time…I am not sure. I think it will always remain a bit in the shadow of the 5970 as that one is one of the all time great PCC. 2499 and 5970 are collector favorites, and I doubt that will change fundamentally. Most collectors consider the 5270 a bit too big and don’t like the 2 apertures on the dial.

But on the other hand, I doubt it will drop in value over time, so you can enjoy a fantastic timepiece and have the piece of mind you can sell it at any moment for what you paid it.

Yeah it’s a tricky one.
I’m choosing between the P and the J, so difficult to be able to put them side by side for direct choice. At this level, it is an emotive purchase and the 5270 line is currently in AD’s so will have your name on the papers.

Am not even thinking about production numbers, but it seems there’s a lot of P’s vs J’s in both AD/ Grey.

Now if you don’t care so much for that and happy to go grey……..

if i was given a choice to pick one model of the current line up to own and never sell it wouod be the 5270P. simply gorgeous. I have not been paying much attention to PP until recently so i don't have the strong feelijg for 5970P. But personally i think 5270P is the better watch

Not a fan, but that is only because the dial colour didn’t suit me on the wrist. Great piece, but try it if you can to make sure it suits you.

I wouldn't bet on speculating with it to be honest....but it is one of Patek's most amazing references if you got the wrist for it. Buy it because you love the watch.

the 5270P is IMHO the top patek in the line-up below MR. beautiful and i believe it will be a collector's watch in the not too distant future. just check the rise of the 5170P in ch24 after PP stopped producing it.

The 5270P is like a fantastic Christmas gift which isn’t PRECISELY to the spoiled child’s liking. He tosses it in a corner (as Patek aficionados have generally done). Shortly thereafter, it ends up becoming one of his most cherished toys.

It is a stunning watch, with a rightful place in the PCC pantheon. 5270P will only increase in collectability and stature, IMO.
