Platinum Day Date dial preference?

Hello everyone, I’m planning on purchasing a Platinum DD and so far I think the new ice blue Roman dial is my top pick. I haven’t seen any incomings on here and was just wondering if anyone on the forum has purchased or seen one in person yet. If so I would love to see some pics and get a little feedback before pulling the trigger. I like the meteorite dial also but think I prefer it on a Daytona rather than on the Day Date.

Ice blue with Romans gets my vote. The new version is amazing with the platinum Romans rather than the blue and motiff

The recently discontinued ice blue quadrant dial with blue hands and romans was the best IMO, a total different level watch. It's more low key on wrist than pics and very very heavy.

I chose the timeless classic ice blue with baguettes. I was going back and forth with the Romans as well but have Romans on my YG DD, so wanted a completely different look. Absolutely thrilled with my choice, my fav DD.

.

Stunning, the baguettes against the sunray ice dial is an amazing combo, I remember every guy that would pass by the Paris CDG Rolex store would stop and stare at it in the display window, it was the showcase piece. Good choice that goes well with a YG Roman - variety. We need a group shot!

I've got the blue cross pattern dial with non-diamonds. I wanted the lume. Perfect watch IMHO.

Ice blue stick. Best dial Rolex makes on any watch IMHO.

Well when I buy any watch its the dial colour and combination myself wants to buy and wear you should do likewise.

My favorite of the platinum DD dial options.

That’s a great looking watch! Funny my reasoning for getting the ice blue romans is the same as yours. I already have YG DD black dial w/baguette markers so I wanted the romans on my platinum DD to change it up.

I prefer the contrast of the blue deconstructed Romans on the glacier dial

I agree, I’m 99% going with the ice blue w/ platinum Roman markers was more just hoping one of the forum members had already acquired one and would be able to post some wrist shots. Since that dial is new I haven’t been able to see one in person and trying it on before I place the order is impossible as my ad doesn’t have one in stock.

I have the new baguette version and that would probably be my pick. The romans are sometimes hard to read to me and I don’t care if I have lume or not.

When I say hard to read it’s probably cuz I have always owned watches with just stick or diamond markers. This may sound silly but let’s pretend it’s 7:45. The hour hand points at 8 and for some reason my mind tells me it’s 8:45 when I know it’s really 7:45.

Ymmv or maybe I just need to wear my other DD more often. Lol

My YG DD has the black dial w/baguettes and the YG is a bit flashy for me, so I have been looking for the platinum DD with the same black w/baguette dial. The good news is that dial seems to be the least favorite and I have seen it with relatively generous discounts at the greys when they have it.

For an older one (18206) I'd get a paved dial with sapphire indexes and Latin day.
For the DD40, meteorite!

Those are all wonderful! I love the look of the ice blue dial.

Assuming the same dial configuration, what are the considerations in deciding to get a platinum DD over a white gold DD? Is the look of the metal much different? I’ve seen pictures of both here on TRF but I don’t recall a side by side comparison, or whether they appear much different in person than in photos.
