AD Delivery Times

Ordered a Yellow Gold 40mm Day Date from my AD about a month ago. He said at the time to expect a 2 to 6 month wait. The day-date is not one of the hotter models. What delivery time should I really expect?

Everything is hot now. Why wouldn’t you believe your AD. That’s when their shipment is expected to come in… great watch.. post pics when you get it..

2 to 6 months seems realistic

Are you saying he is lying?

I ordered a TT DJ 36 (also not one of the hottest models) after speaking to a few SA's at the same store. One said 2-8 weeks, the other said 1-3 months, don't call us, we'll call you. So, I don't think there's a science to it, but everyone is doing their best to give an estimate based on their recent experience and our rank in the pecking order (for me: so low that I need a DSSD just to tell the time.)

When the sub is quoted at 24 months, you know you’re going to wait for whatever you want.

Is that "2-6mos" pretty universal these days on any non-allocation pieces? Curious as I recently placed an order for an OP34 silver and curious what to expect (since my AD was nice enough to place the order, not going to bombard with texts/messages - would rather annoy people here with my questions :p).

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say 2 to 6 month wait. What makes you a think a stranger on the internet would know better than the AD themselves placing the order?

I heard 2-12 weeks on datejusts from multiple unaffiliated ADs, so that would be within the shorter end of this range. I have to think that AD's have some incentive to undersell the expected wait time.

I was at NY AD today and he said that DD can be special ordered with a wait time of 3-6 months.

All steel models he said is just on a waiting time
DJ41 blue dial - 1 year
GMT BLNR - 3 to 5 years.

The above were mentioned as I was giving my DJ on servicing and BLNR was in my wrist.

It was just a conversation but if I remember from an earlier enquiry - they only put you on waitlist with 100% deposit.

My friend in Chicago asked the AD on Michigan ave for red seadweller and they said 3-6 months. He bought it that night from Jaztime for 14800, still a great price. AD called 2 days later that they had the watch, lol.

At this point with the way things have been with Rolex, it’s a crap shoot. What flies for one may not fly for another. There is no consistency at all with sales, delivery, etc.
