Turning hands -- starts the watch ?

Does setting the time ( not winding ) i.e if you keep turning the hands will it wind/start the watch ?

Simple answer is no, setting the hands will not wind the watch.
However, in some cases, it will start the watch ticking once set. This however will not last long, and is only from allowing what little tension was left in the mainspring to expel….(assuming a stoped watch)

Not that I know of, unless your motion of the watch turns the rotor a bit
