Phase out question

Dear friends,
I will need to confirm to my AD what reference I would like to get this coming Christmas. I would like to buy either the Deepsea Cameron or the Milgauss black dial green crystal. Considering that My finances allow only one purchase every couple of year, what do you think is the reference that has more chances to be phased out earlier? I would like to own them both so I need to think what to buy first depending on when they stay in the catalogue as I do not go grey or second hands.
I know that only Rolex knows but I am just asking your gut feeling
Thanks a lot for the advices

Two very different size watches.

I prefer my Milgauss GV.

I don’t think I could wear the JC all day at 225 grams and 44mm x almost 18mm high.

Is there a reason you want to know which one will be disco’d first?

Get the one you prefer first. You might find your tastes or interests change in a couple of years.

Big difference in size. Have you tried on a deep sea?

Simple reason is that I want to add both in the collection but as I can buy ( due to family finance) one per year and I know that both models has been out since long time I do not want to risk to see one going out of production. So my idea is to buy first the one that has got higher chances to go out of production first, as I can not afford premium prices.

Definitely go for the Dblue.
I have a small wrist and can wear daily without any issues, people that normally say it’s too big or uncomfortable haven’t actually owned one.
The current model is very well balanced and far more comfortable than the SD43 with it’s awfully designed protruding case back

Get the one you want. They will both always be available on the secondary market.

Nobody knows what watch(s) Rolex will discontinue next. (Only Rolex knows)

If your AD offers you one of the watches you want - thats the one to buy.

If you truly have no preference between the two, why not simply ask your Ad for both.

Explain that you can only afford one at this time but ultimately you hope to add both in a couple of years. I think they will appreciate your honesty

If I had to guess, I would guess that the DSSD will be around, in some form or another, for a long time. As has been pointed out before, this watch is a technical tour de force. For that reason, it makes sense that Rolex will want it in the current lineup to demonstrate its engineering prowess relative to competitors' dive watches.

The Milgauss, on the other hand, has come and gone through the years. It and the Air King are also the last watches using a 31xx series movement, so whether that is updated next year will probably indicate whether it has a long-term place in the lineup (though by then it'll be past Christmas time).

Sure, that is what I tried to explain with my bad English! I can not afford more than one watch purchase per year! ( and I consider myself extremely lucky for being able to do that!).

I would take the one that comes first at your AD.

I think the Milgauss will discontinue first. They are great watches, I love my Z Blue.
