Rolex Archive ?

I would have thought a company like Rolex built on history might have offered the services of an Archive, where you can for a small fee find out the history on your watch. The original supplying dealer, country of first sale, service history if it exists and perhaps original owner if Data protection laws allowed.

I have had many British classic cars over the years and the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust allows you to purchase the factory build record for your car. Much useful information is contained in these certificates from the archive and it helps owners build a history on their vehicle.

I know I may be comparing Apples with Oranges Classic cars/Rolex watches, but I think Rolex would be surprised at the interest and income generated if they offered customers this Archive service for a small fee.

Just a thought?

Rolex Archive ?

Since many other brands have offered “extracts from the archives” certificates for many years I’m sure if Rolex had the slightest inclination they’d have done it long ago already. Sadly it’s just not something they’re interested in.

Oh there is an archive, it's just not open to the public.

Just doesn't offer enough value to them as a company to do that otherwise they would. I'd look for an experienced dealer with many years of experience and a passion for their history to learn about your watch.

Perhaps a privacy issue and if you buy a full set you know it all.
