What do you all think of a Sky Dweller movement in a different Rolex model?
I like the complication of the Sky Dweller’s movement but it looks like a Datejust on steroid so a lot of us with small wrists can’t wear it. If Rolex could shrink the movement down to fit one of their other models, which model would you like to have this movement? I think Rolex should make these types of changes instead of just changing dial colors and swapping two bracelets back and forth.

I don’t understand why’d they do this. It’d be like putting a GMT movement in a Daytona. It was designed specifically for what it is.

It's rather an over-elaborate movement, IMO. It would be a major undertaking to downsize it, and to what purpose? You need a big dial as a backdrop for that 2nd timezone subdial, which is already quite hard to read. Just so you don't have to advance the date from 31 to 1 four times a year? No thanks.

Exactly. Just like the YM II I’d like to think of Rolex could’ve made it smaller the would’ve. But being the massive SkyD fanboy I am I think it’s perfect as is. September already looking good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would love the skyD calendar on a day date in 40 with president bracelet. That would be an easy buy for me.

Never thought about that until now. And probably won’t think about it again.

With your logic, why not go all they way and add a graduated bezel to a Day Date and call it a dive watch

I was blown away by the Skydweller until I tried one on. I wear DJ2’s a lot and thought the SKD would be the same case size…..wrong! I agree, if they could put it on a diet and slim it down, then for me at least, it would be a reference to get, but currently it’s just too large. |

It’s not naive. JLC did it with the perpetual calendar and Bvlgari Did it with the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
