Old school Breitling Navitimer

Given to me by my father.
The second of his two nice watches he ever bought.

This one he bought as he used to fly.
He owned a Single Prop back when I was young, wanted
me to learn to fly and was going to give me the plane...
After a couple lessons I realized I liked to party too much
and didn't like to get up that early (this was when I was in
college and high school) but most importantly I just didn't
like being in control of the plane... I am a great passenger
but don't wanna have the stick...

I wear it a couple times a month, it is not my typical style
watch but I like it and always get compliments on it.

IF anyone here knows more about the history of this model
I'd love to hear...

That beauty is a Breitling Navitimer 806. It looks to be a 1961-1963 806 and in very good condition. Sorry, I'm not a vintage Breitling expert, so I gave you what I know.

Yes, it really is..
I am quite shocked at how great the dial looks as my dad
wore it for about 15 years daily BUT after that it sat in a drawer
for probably 20 years
The more pics I see of others from this same vintage the more
I realize how amazingly clean this one is.

I had an identical one. If you pop the case back off you'll find a reference number. Look it up on Navitimer.net to date it. It's certainly a mid 60's one.

Mine was in identical condition, again because after it's first service it went into a drawer for 30 years.

I'm beginning to regret selling it....
