Go grey on 228206 plat ice blue DD baguette?

Hello

Hope everyone is well.
I had tried this watch from a friend a month ago and instantly fell in love.

Anyone have any insight on MSRP and how difficult it would be?

I don’t have a strong relationship with any rolex AD, which leads me to be forced to go one way. Grey.
Roughly $75K for it.

I’d love any and all suggestions.
I’m unable to post a photo for some reason but I don’t believe there is another type of ice blue baguette DD platinum.

Thank you

Did not realize that. Thanks for the information.
Any idea what retail price is on this one? Does not show me on the site.
I am considering the grey route.
Must say, paying $75K will hurt a lot less knowing retail is at least kind of close.

i believe the non baguette dial is 63 or 64k, so baguettes should be 68 or so. not too bad of a premium especially when you factor in taxes, unless i'm mistaken

Grey for sure. Platinum dd are only going up. Look at the platona. May I also suggest opting for the diamond baguette indices. The baguettes with the ice blue dial is perfect

I would go with a AD what better way to start a relationship than with a nice request like that?

Given that you’re willing to drop that kind coin on one piece, it would behoove you to approach an AD or several ADs first. If he possibilities look grim or too much time to invest, then proceed Grey.

That is actually the one I am eyeing.

Would anyone happen to know the retail price?

I did get in touch with one, and he told me that it is a very difficult model as they don't receive too many of them..

I know an AD in the US that had one a couple of weeks ago in the case. PM me if you’re interested. They probably still have it

Where are you based OP?

My local AD allowed me to place an order for a glacier DD, with no purchase history

DM if interested

The msrp is 67.7k and it’s a lovely watch. It can be a relationship builder in normal times, if normal times ever come back.

This is correct, very minimum premium, buy now before the msrp might go up soon.

Should be able to find an ad that can order. Also, can order a platinum but with green dial which I don't think I've seen on here but is a true sleeper.

Just for info Platinum is currently £ 735 per Troy Oz, I think but would stand corrected if wrong that 4.5 Oz weight of platinum is in the watch you are thinking of purchasing.

Gold is £ 1310 per Troy Oz.

For me I cannot see the value of Rolex PM pieces?

Just checked the PM content of a Gold Rolex Day Date and its just short of 100 grams or 3.5 oz's.

3.5 x 1310 = £ 4,585 worth of Gold in the watch.

3.5 x 735 = £ 2, 573 worth of Platinum in the watch.

At todays market prices, is that worth the premium for a PM Rolex? I think not.

If you can get it at less than msrp from one of our trusted sellers then I would do that. If not, I would talk to various ADs until you find one that has it in stock or will let you order it. That’s a great way to start a relationship.
