I all the sudden hear and feel the rotor weight in my brand new Rolex?

Just bought a 124270 brand new from the AD. Got back from traveling with it abroad and all the sudden while in my kitchen I feel/hear the rotor moving around. This cant be right, right? Especially after having worn it nonstop since I bought it 3 weeks ago and now I suddenly notice this?

32 series movement definitely have more noise with the different rotor design. I thought the same with my DJ but it’s normal with the newer rotor design.

I think most of the "blame" (which isn't really "blame" since isn't really a problem) is that it now has ceramic ballbearings.

All normal the ball bearing rotors are a bit more nosier than the older sleeve type rotors in the 31 series.

I have a DJ 41 and the new Submariner, both have 32xx movements and I have heard nothing from them when worn on my wrist.

If I hold the watch to my ear I can just about hear something but then all my automatic watches can be heard if I hold the case to my ear.

You're just aware of it now.
In time you'll simply become accustomed to it. It's normal to be able to feel something going on in there for those new movements in the latest Rolex watches

It's pretty discrete in those new movements.
Whilst not quite the same, I can not detect anything going on in the Skydwellers whilst on the wrist
Which was a pleasant surprise

It’s very quiet for a ceramic bearing rotor.

The 31 movements are so smooth and silent. The 32 is refined for a bearing installation, but it can't be compared to the 31 because it isn't the same.

Another option is downsize to a black OP34… the 22xx is virtually silent…

I don’t notice any difference between the new movement and previous one. Maybe yours needs a lube job ;)

I have a 124270 and I have also noticed that the rotor is a bit noisier than my other watches with the 30xx and 31xx movements. Nothing that really bothers me though.

The ceramic bearings helps explain it. Thanks for the clarification that the new series of movements has this subtle characteristic.
