New addition to the collection and new member

Hey everyone, been lurking for a while and decided to finally make my first post, and show off my collection.

Speedy- Not much to say about this watch. Great tool watch and great to dress down. Although after owning Rolex, nothing about this watch feels premium. Still really enjoy wearing it, especially on a canvas strap. The heritage of it makes it special, although I'm not sure the watch would have the same status without that heritage. But perhaps that goes for most luxury watches these days.

BLNR- Just recently acquired this a few weeks back through an AD in the area. What can I say, it's gorgeous. It wears very differently than the Sub, and definitely feels like more of a dress watch due to the polished clasp and jubilee bracelet. I love it.

116610LN- I've owned this for about a year, purchased at the same AD. I've always really liked the sub, but after getting the BLNR and comparing the two, I may love the sub even more. They are such different watches and I expected to not wear the sub as much, but that's definitely not the case.

Hoping to keep growing the collection and contributing to the forum as much as I can.

M

Yep...I saw the new Speedy at my local AD and I do appreciate the history and all that but the low 50m WR and all painted dial wasn't my cuppa tea. I prefer applied indices instead.

Just read a thread on another forum where a member posted condensation on the sapphire on his brand new speedy and he wasn't too happy about it.

Agreed. Unfortunately the speedy just doesn't have the fit and finish you'd expect for 5K+. For reference, I had a Seamster Planet Ocean co-axial, and that was far and away a much better watch, for a similar price point.

I personally feel Omega is resting on the heritage laurels a little too much with the speedy.

I think it depends which Speedy you get , there are some great better quality Speedys with much better movements but most collectors seem to go for the Moon Watch.
That said if I had the choice between a Speedy and Daytona at retail price there would only ever be one winner

Agreed. The Speedy moonphase is definitely a grail watch for me and much better than the Speedy professional. Only challenge is, it's quite large and wears large.
