Vacheron Constantin Dual Time Overseas 7900v

I am considering buying this watch! Can I expect a discount from the AD? If so, what's reasonable?

Also, if you own this, I would love to hear about your experiences with it! Like it? Hate it after buying?

Thanks in advance!

A couple months back I got 5% + cash vouchers + credit card cash back totalling around usd3,000 from an AD in BKK. No waitlist and ready to pick up. Not sure about now though.

Pretty sure it's zero discounts now from boutique or even most ADs. Maybe even lucky to get on a wait list for the blue at boutiques

I had it since 2018 and never regretted since. The three straps give variety and one never gets bored with the dial. Good daily beater and fly below radar screen and no one really notices.

i ordered the black dial 6 weeks ago with an ETA of 12-14 weeks.

I was able to source somewhat a discount by purchasing from a local AD who sold it to me at sticker price offered in the US ($25,200) vs local Australian boutique price of $39,000 AUD or $30,200 USD.

I have heard there may be a price increase come June 1st from multiple sources.

My AD showed me the black dial (no idea why, but for some reason he assumes I am much wealthier than I actually am lol) and it was a beautiful piece but didn't really wow me. I had a look at the three hander in silver dial and it was really impressive.

As for discount he said he could do it for about $4000 below the Australian MSRP so $35000 dollarydoos. I'm sure he'd do better if I was ready to buy though.

I saw the rg silver dial in a store yesterday. If I had the cash I would be wearing it today.

Loving my black dial as I can play around with the straps. The only downside is getting more straps can be pretty pricey. Thinking about red for the next one if they have it.

Apologies for the dusts and poor quality shot.

The blue dial looks NICE!!! I guess the silver/white is the least popular.

Call the boutique, they are very friendly. They will source one from another location or let you know when the next is coming. My AD had a black 7900V come through early in the month. Went same day.

I was told by my boutique that they are accepting deposit for the 7900V Dual Time, but will take approximately 10 months wait.

They are not accepting deposit for the 4500V at all. I was put on the waitlist. Who knows if it will ever open up.

I’ve heard much the same thing on the 7900v and just assumed it was worse for the 4500v. The boutiques are receiving low single digit allocations of the 7900v for the year in all colorways which puts the wait time at several months or into 2022. Granted, there are a lot of sales outlets for VC so that may not be as ominous as it sounds.

The blue dial I gather is now much like every other popular blue dial - For a new customer it’s really difficult. Those seem to be going now to existing customers and harder to land.

From a personal taste perspective, I am lucky and got the blue dial 7900v earlier this year, but I would absolutely consider the black. In a way, the black looks even better. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the silver but that’s just my tastes.

I encourage anybody to consider this watch and be a bit patient to get it in your collection.

Chase has the black dial 7900V unworn for less than MSRP plus tax right now.

I picked up mine a couple of months ago. The boutique told me that they do not do discounts as this is a policy from Geneva. I’m not sure if ADs adhere to this.

I got the silver dial. From the images I saw I preferred the silver, and I did not have any silver dial watches. As it happened, silver was available at the time.

It is very comfortable on the wrist and the dial is just beautiful. I’m glad to have it.

I am in australia as well and looking to order a black dual time but not sure if there’ll be any discount on it. If you don’t mind letting me know which AD than that would be great :)

If they haven't closed the list (they may have until the new year), I'd imagine about a year. They still haven't fulfilled those waiting since mid 2021.

Mid-2021? That's not that bad for the watch industry, to be honest.

If anyone's complaining about waiting since mid-2021, they need to reevaluate their desperate need for luxury watches.

12-18 months is pushing it for these references, though, so once it hits that mark, I can understand the complaints.

Don’t disagree although some of those waiting since mid 2020 put down a 30% deposit vs a traditional wait list. 30% deposit for some references can be substantial.

The upside is once you put a deposit with VC you’re in, just a matter of time. Seems like the sequence is something like sorry can’t take your info —- will write you down for expression of interest —— wait list / deposit —— delivery. Still beats the wait for a RO or a Nautilus by a country mile.

Got mine last summer from an AD that had it in stock. Since then I think VC shifted to only boutique sales here.

It gets the vast majority of wrist time for me more than a year later.

Other dial variants are stunning too so you can’t go wrong, but I do think the silver is most versatile in terms of strap options. I mainly wear it on a blue rubber, but also added this brown leather and the orange rubber for the summer.
