5164 vs 5168 - which one for my tastes?
I have tried an AP 15202 and 15500 the other day and went with the 15500 much to my surprise. I keep reading online how the 15202 is the one to get and is perfectly proportioned and yet I thought the 15500 was way better for my 7 inch wrist.
I have also felt like the 5711 is too small and svelt for my tastes. With this information, I understand that the 5164 and 5168 are both bigger than the standard 5167 which is likely way too small for me after the 5711 and 15202. Does anyone know if the 5164 would be big enough given my tastes or just look into the 5168 instead? |

Only difference, the 5164 is thicker..... 5168 maybe to big for a 7inch wrist IMHO......

5167 wears larger than 5711, so you may want to try that one first. If you find it too small you could try 5168, if you find it too thin you could go 5164, and if you find it too small and too thin 5968 might be the cure.

I prefer the 5164 to the 5167 so that is out. 5968 is not my taste. So it really is down to 5164 and 5168.
Now, would the diameter of the 5164 really satisfy my want for wrist presence if I disliked the smaller size of the 5711 and 15202? The 116500 Daytona also feels small. I really like the 15500 size and the new 41mm Submariner. Can the size of the 5164 really hang with the 15500 and 41mm Sub? |

However, if you already have the 15500 (which is a time and date watch) then perhaps adding a time travel complication would be a nice addition.

If you like the size of the 15500, the 5168g is for you. 15500 wears a bit bigger than 5168g on my wrist. The case site of 42.2mm is deceiving. RO at only 41mm wears bigger in my view.
5164a wears much smaller. |

I feel the 5168 and 15500 would wear quite similar. I don't have the 5168 but the 5968 has the same 42mm case of the 5168.

I have both a 15500 and a 5164 and love them both. I do tend to wear the 5164 more due to its comfort. It’s the most comfortable watch I have ever owned.
I wear the 15500 on a strap sometimes and when I do, it feels very similar to my 5164. Some pics for comparison: (7 inch wrist) |
