Attempt at watch photography - Tudor Submariner

This is obviously very amateur level photography with my phone. I think I need a better background. Any suggestion as to the items and composition? I tried using my SD43, but it seems to overwhelm the other items.

This is a slippery slope you are getting into along with watches. You can use pretty much any fabric for background texture. But what’s more important is how you light your subject and what kind of fill light or reflector you use to avoid shadows. You can follow few folks on the gram like “watchstudies”, “averagewatches”. They do pretty good watch photography. Here are some of mine..

In your pictures, the watch is clearly the subject. In the OP’sc I have no idea what I’m supposed to be “focused” on if I were an average viewer. It just looks like a picture I’d find on edc (everyday carry).

Fair point and correct observation.

OP - Did you get the feedback?

Here’s a few I did. The lighting is important, and also framing your image. You want to create diamonds with the other objects around it- sometimes less is more, not just a random bunch of items on a table.
