They’re not wet enough for any real transfer of liquid. You actually have to act fast or all of the alcohol will evaporate before you finish wiping. Anyone who has used this particular one will concur.

I buy one of those microfiber cloths from the optical shop at Walmart for my glasses and to use sometimes on my watch.

Mostly, I use any microfiber towel or 100% cotton cloth or t-shirt that might be available at any given time.

I tried some of the soft wrist clean products and they worked well but in time it seemed no better than my soft microfiber clothes. So I just stick with those since I always have them in supply.

Just my .02 worth, but every Service Center has a stack of cleaning cloths. If you're close by, just stop in and pick one or two up.

If you're not near a RSC, check out this eBay listing below. I picked up some extra cloths from this seller, and they are in fact original Rolex cloths.

One thing I learned is after washing, use the cleaning cloth to wipe the crystal before using a blower to remove water from. The links and crevices. Just using a blower to dry the watch risks stubborn water spots on the crystal.

Could anyone recommend a good quality cloth I could keep on me and use accordingly?

Do Rolex do anything? I'm sure someone said on here they got a cleaning cloth after a service?

Thanks in advance

There’s a company in the USA that do a lot of cleaning products for luxury Watches including microfibre polishing clothes. I have purchased a lot of their products & they are good quality. This company is called wristclean

If you do insist on using a cloth, then I would only use it once when new and immediately after removing from a sealed package. After that it is bound to pick up scratch causing grit.

My wife drops her watch/jewelry at Cartier every now and then for cleaning, they give her a sweet cleaning kit (spray + brush + cloth) every time (which I use!)

Nah. This is overkill.

This kind of advice is why people are freaking out about the simple act of wiping down a watch.

Unless you are throwing it on the floor, a new cloth doesn't immediately pick up particles that will start scratching a steel watch within seconds of coming out of the package.

The horror! lol...

For years, I use my shirt to wipe my watch but thanks to some of these weird posts I actually catch myself wondering "if it's safe".

My AD gave me a Rolex cloth after I bought a couple of watches. Time of purchase is when to ask for this.

Hi! I think I have the same cloth - cream colored with emerald green trim & print? It has Rolex, Tudor, and Rolex Collini printed on it? I was curious if and how you cleaned it? Are you supposed to gently launder it? Just spot clean it? Or leave it alone until it 'dies'? Thanks!! :)

It's all terrible advice all around.

Here's what you need to properly clean and not ruin your watches with swirls:

https://www.parlux.it/en/hairdryer/parlux-advance

I have this one and it delivers 83m3/min of air. With the small nozzle, it will create ridges on your skin. That's how strong the flow is.

Clean your watch with soapy water, and then use this to dry it. My watches make no contact with clothes of any kind, and stay pristine because the only thing they touch are my clothes (which are mostly made of silk, in particular my underwear).

Cleaning cloth advice

Jeez. What a bunch of amateurs.

When your valet retrieves your chosen timepiece for you, he first bathes it in the tears of his two virgin daughters.

Once dried with nothing but sun rays and the exhalations of newborn doves, the watch is ready for application to your freshly-bathed and clean-shaven wrist.

At this point your dirt-and-dust advance team should be at the ready. Position one man at the right wrist, and the second at the left. Ensure all cuffs are properly positioned and then set out on your day.

Should the timepiece encounter any unwelcome particulates or toxins, one man can immediately remove the watch and evacuate it to a safe environment for rapid steam cleaning, or possible destruction in the event of a “super stain” event.

At this point, your second man should have already sought out the offending smudge source to ensure its hasty eradication.

Easy as pie.

I use those blue 3m microfiber cloths from home depot. You get a gazillion for like 5 bucks

Learned from the owner of a well respected Automobile Polish Manufacture beware of Microfiber clothes with salvage edges, most are sewn with clear monofilament thread which scratches like crazy. Microfiber is great just trim off the stitching.

when you wipe your watch with any cloth, the dirt doesn't magically disappear, a large percentage of that particulate matter will stick to the cloth.
And that's what will leave scratches, so I cut up a handful of the Costco cloths into 4X4ish squares, keep them in a ziplock- after using them once to clean my watches, they go onto dirtier, greasier, oilier wiping duties.
