New member and owner

First off I just want to thank everyone. I browsed a lot here before I purchased my watch and gained a lot of knowledge.

Anyway I was looking for a nice watch for my 30th birthday. Didn't think a Rolex was in my price range but when I found one that was in perfect condition for only a tiny bit more than the new Omega's I was browsing, I realized that I wanted a Rolex, not just a watch. :)

I ended up purchasing a T series 16610 from (I'm hesitant to say....) Tourneau. For what they sold it to me for I have not seen one as in good of shape nor with the warranty and recent service that this one had. The price was far below what they usually charge for a watch like this so I feel I got a pretty good deal. I apologize to all the people who are cringing out there as I know their reputation... I'm also confident in its authenticity although I will be heading to RSC NY to validate and appraise it soon!

Crappy cell phone pic:

I'm thrilled, there's no other way to put it. I love the watch, my wife loves the watch, and it truly makes me feel like I have worked hard to reach 30 years of age and own such a beautiful timepiece. The Sub is a work of art, but not pretentious. I feel comfortable wearing shorts and a tshirt with it just as much as a formal suit!

So again thanks for all the pre sales help even though I was just lurking!

Congratulations on a fine purchase and welcome to the forum.

If you found a deal at Tourneau, then that's not an issue. I think most of us don't like Tourneau because of a lack of customer service and their pricing policies. However, everyone's experience is different.

You found the watch for a price that you found to be quite acceptable, and you got yourself one beauty of a watch. Wear it in good health and enjoy the forum!

Yeah, I think the best part is that the watch has a story behind it too.

I purchased it (at my wifes urging) during our honeymoon in Hawaii. I saw it and figured I'd think about it for a day, but she made me go back a few hours later to purchase it. She's a keeper!

This timepiece will always bring a smile to my face with that memory.

Also my parents have owned Rolex watches my whole life and now I truly appreciate having one of my own on my wrist. I've waited a few years for this, figured my 30th birthday was the time to do it!

NJSub - Warm welcome to TRF.

Also please congratulate your wife for the foresight she had in sending you back a few hours later to get the next love of your life.

Once you get the watch serviced, it will be good as new.

It's my understanding that Tourneau, for all their faults, services Rolex watches before selling them preowned. Of course there's only one way to tell and that's take it to RSC for an estimate I guess....
