Why? Supply and demand. Yet another watch which was low hanging fruit has been ID'd and bought up.

If the AD supply has already dried up then it will push up the market price. Chrono24 inventory on Milgauss models has been falling for quite a while. There are now only 12 non-modified white milgauss watches listed on there.

It’s the Airking 116900 so named after the world speed record car which Rolex were once involved with - similarities to the dials in it at that time

There were rumours that it'd be discontinued soon, at which point the Youtubers got on to it and were more than happy to pour on additional hype (I wonder why ). Now there's only one way the price can go.

Many dislike the dial's busy nature but I've believed since first seeing one it is one of the coolest watches Rolex makes. I've been looking at them for a while and may yet pull the trigger.

A rising tide lifts all boats. On one hand, I like the brushed milgauss case and bracelet, and I really like the yellow and green dial touches, but I don't like the dial layout.

It kind of feels like a model that Rolex slapped together with misc parts. I can imagine the design meeting went something like this:
- Take a milgauss case/bracelet, brush it. We don't sell enough of these anyways, and it's the only watch that uses this case. Gotta make those tooling costs worth it!
- Take the old explorer 39mm dial with the WG 3-6-9, and throw on a whole crap load of 5's. We've got a bunch of these left from the dial change.
- Lume? Eh. Forget about it. Just leave the triangle at 12.
- Oops. We forgot hands. Throw some mercedes hands on there. It's Friday and I'm kicking off early to go skiing. And uhhh... make the Rolex crown yellow and the Rolex writing green.

It just seems like a mish mash of stuff. And I'm teasing, but in reality I do really like this watch, and have to say that it looks much better in person than in photos.

Its funny how certain rolex watches rise in value , that then makes other models look good value for money , i was watching hulks and pepis go up in value to prices just under steely daytonas , £15000- £17000 now that same daytona is £25000 and im only going back 15 month . i think hulks are now making kermits look cheap so fully expecting kermits to surge in value . Date just 41s are now coveted , £11,000 for a second hand azzuro dial datejust 41 ! sooner or later this bubble will burst

Social media and the greys are posting charts like these all the time and trying to get everyone at it. Ooooh they are going to stop making them....yep, because they don't sell THAT well. The Milgauss has supposedly gone up 64% in 12 months. Loads of stupid prices for these two watches yet completed sales on ebay show a different story. Don't be Lemmings folks...
