There is no longer a sleeper Rolex watch except perhaps Cellini (for now)

I would agree. I think the YM is awesome in person, but i don’t know about sleeper. A few years ago sure, but if you want a sport watch with a date and PCLs you’re getting a yachmaster. For those that couldn’t get a sub, it’s an obvious next choice.

Agreed, the YM is gaining momentum. For the first time in 8 years since I bought mine, it is now trading above its latest retail price (before being discontinued). It's nice to know it's worth something but if the bubble bursts, IDGAF. I'll never sell it. I bought it to wear it, enjoy it, put nice memories to it.

I love this watch and it's the one I've worn the most since I got it brand new at a very nice discount (aaah, the good old days). Not only is it comfortable but it's sporty and classy at the same time, not an easy balance to strike. It has a unique personality, such a sexy watch. Just talking about it makes me want to wear it. I also like the fact few people have one, compared to the obvious choice. Not saying the obvious choice is a bad choice, just that it's not my choice.

Enjoy it and wear it in good health, OP.
Thank you!

Still a whole lot of bang for the buck..
I love a Daytona TT zenith dial or not, but to call them a sleeper?
One of the watches an AD will not even put you on a waiting list for if you have no purchase history, together with Subs and GMTs.

No offense taken, I like the look better than than of the Sub, it also sells at a premium compared to the Sub, partly because of the Platinum bezel.
And bear in mind this model was Rolex's planned replacement watch for the Sub. They both share a lot of DNA.
IMO the YMII is the odd one out with the uppercase model name splashed om the bezel. And even that one I would gladly wear :D

That's a very nice watch indeed.

6 months at least, if there were a zero wait prices wouldn't nearly have doubled.

In this case, it’s the people seeking a sub, but opting for the SS YM40.
Well, I did own a DSSD that I purchased pre owned and I returned it because it had a lot of mechanical issues that only a complete (and expensive) maintance could solve so I felt kind of cheated and returned it. In hindsight and give the market evolution, I maybe should've kept it but it wore VERY heavy on the wrist with a solid 44mm dial.

I don't get the Daytona. To me it looks like a Brietling or other generic chronometer.
I think when people think Rolex they think Submariner/GMT for a casual look and any of the gold PM watches for a dressy look.
I think the Sub/GMT II references are the sleepers because they'll gradually keep appreciating.

Sub and GMTs (Pepsi, Batman, Batgirl) are the hottest in demand, not exactly what I would consider a sleeper. There is 1 particular model that I considered a sleeper and has now gone up significantly and that is the Millgaus with the beautiful Z blue dial. I hesitated between that one and the YM.

They ARE probably being copied by 5-year olds in a sweatshop somewhere.
