Yacht Master 42mm in Titanium

Just seen this from other forum, Yacht 42 in RLX titanium with Cerachrom bezel and Cordura rubber strap. The catalogue page looks real and what interesting is the strap. Don't think I've seen Cordura trademark before.

I thought Rolex did everything in-house? Maybe fabric straps are new to them.. assuming this leak is legit.

'Finally, the watch is worn on a NATO Strap (also something never seen before for the brand), which according to the brand, combines Cordura with high-performance elastomer and is closed by a Velcro for easy adjustments.'

Rolex probably incorporated the high-performance elastomer (Rubber) on the bottom of the NATO strap.

Appears picture in the magazine was from the above.

If this is coming to market, I will be on the hunt for the cordura strap for Sub41.

Big fan of the YM which I've always preferred to the Sub. I own the 116622 pt dial and wear it a lot.

However, I'm not a fan of titanium. I've got an affordable Ti watch and wouldn't want this metal in a luxury watch. Same with NATO straps, ok on a beater, not on a 10k+ piece.

I like the absence of date. I love the size.

So, mixed feelings on this one. Will have to wait and see it IRL.

Do you not consider a 90 k Royal Oak in titanium a luxury watch?

Well, I suppose it is, it's down to personal preference, I guess. I don't particularly like the feeling and look of titanium.

I get where you’re coming from… When someone says titanium something like the Pelagos comes to mind and not a Royal Oak. In fairness Sir Ben Ainslie was using the YM prototype as a tool watch. Very few people will use it that way IMO.

That pic looks to be from the current Rolex Magazine with the OP on the cover. I got the English version yesterday from my AD and saw this same picture. The article talked about the one-off prototype being tested.

don't think rolex would release this watch this year, it's too similar to the current white gold version.

That is just page 117 in the latest Rolex Mag. It talks about it being a one-off.

Welp so much for that. Glad I didn’t text my AD. That would of been cringe lol

It has the same strap as the Pelagos FXD. Very cool! Interesting to see the crossover between Tudor and Rolex. It’s the titanium loop and velcro mechanism.

Which is exactly why we'll never see this go into production.
