Ask and you shall receive

Back in December I started a thread "Asked my AD for a GMT", background was that I had a modest purchase history stretching back 20 or so years at my AD including 2 SS sports models and various jewelry pieces mainly for my wife. We were there in December to purchase a Cartier for our daughter so on the spur of the moment I asked the SA to register my interest.

Got the text on Thursday, Batgirl on Jubilee. Less than 5 months and I didn't have to buy anything I don't want or visit the store regularly or anything like that. So it can be done at MSRP

Well, you _did_ have to buy something

Of course it can be done at msrp
Majority of us buy at msrp in normal markets
Big markets like miami, nyc, la, dallas, and similar may run into challenges
Congratulations

Congrats
But I'm assuming you bought your daughter that Cartier you mentioned.. so to say you didn't have to buy anything isn't quite accurate.

He did clearly write that he didn’t have to buy something he didn’t want.

In my opinion, there is nothing to congratulate you yet. Five months is a long time and a lot can change. And there are millions of us saved for watches. ;) Be offended, but these are my thoughts after reading this post.

That's awesome but when you say batgirl, do you mean Blnr??

BLNR, yes - the AD text even referred to it as Batgirl.

Point of my post was to offer encouragement to all those waiting, keep the faith!. There is no instant gratification going down the official route but all Rolex watches are initially sold at retail so patience is very important and you have a shot. You also have to prepare yourself that the call may come when you are otherwise engaged and had kind of forgotten about it - certainly was a shock to me as I was prepared for at least a year's wait. But I didn't hesitate even though on the day a new watch was not at the top of my list of concerns and priorities.

Nothing wrong with grey, not knocking it but sometimes on these threads the AD route gets a bit disparaged.

If I can figure out how to post a photo I will!
