First Cartier Watch

So my wife hasn't caught the watch bug like me but I'd like to think that over the years it has managed to rub off on her a little bit. Next month will be our 20th year anniversary so she decided she'd like to get a nice watch (this would be her first) to celebrate, so off to the AD we went.

She's always liked Cartier watches and found that they have a classic charm about them. I on the other hand am a bit embarrassed to admit I've always thought of them more as jewelry and not as a true watchmaker. She went in thinking she would walk out with a classic rose gold Tank, but to her surprise she found it a bit too small and plain looking. In the end she wound up going with the stainless steel Santos in medium. I think the size and style of the watch suits her perfectly (and this watch wasn't even on her radar to begin with). It just goes to show that seeing a watch in person is so much more different than just looking online.

I have to say though I ended up a big fan of the watch as well. The bezel design (and especially the crown) is very cool and interesting and the bracelet is really well made with the easy quick change links. It's also super comfortable to wear.

Congratulations to her. I am wearing the same watch but on a blue strap. Love how easy it is to switch from bracelet to the strap

That sounds great, this watch seems like it would go well with a variety of straps.

I absolutely love my Santos, I really think this could be a strong contender for the "one watch collection." Congratulations and enjoy it!
