Rolex 3998 Movement Help

Hello,

My great grandfather was a watchmaker from the 1920s-1980s and inherited his entire “shop”.

I came across a Rolex Movement that I haven’t been able to find any thing on. It’s marked as a 3998 movement and my guess is pre 1950.

Any help of info would be much appreciated!

Thanks!A2079A41-EA5C-4760-9DF1-CD75A61B5C55.jpeg

Welcome to the Forum!

To help you with your research, search for the size "N-A" which is in the caliber 620 / 630 series. Maybe refer to a bubbleback movement.
