1675 GMT 1964 ser # 11497XX PCG OR NO?

Found one online less than 100 numbers off mine and my crown guards look.... " half pointed" .. not really rounded like some known in 1965 up...but not as pointy as some unpolished 63 and earlier...mine has been polished obv...but it matches the one on ebay almost exactly...was there a semi pointed crown guard?...thanks guys..trying to learn about my watch mine is the one on the window sill ..[trying to get light in the dark north].. lol

so just polished a lot i know.. ...i was surprised to see an orig owner watch on ebay that looked identical was why i was asking if there was a transition pcg before the round guards became std... his must have been sent to rolex 3 or 4 times like mine was... lol

JUST FOUND THIS

Broad (PCG): These appear to have been introduced around SN 874xxx and were seen until at least 114xxxx. The easiest way to see the difference on these is the lack of the extra facet on the side of the crown guards – also, for polished examples, notice how the lug chamfer starts in a different manner between El Cornino and broad PCGs...this is what i suspect mine is...

As noted - yours are just early rounded, not pointed.
Also. You have a matte service dial and insert.

yes its been rolex serviced once every 10 yrs or so it appears.. i bought it because of that actually.. but i still like to understand what my watch is....once i saw the link i posted on the cases, i saw mine was an early rounded guard case.. same as the one on ebay [he lists it as a pcg incorrectly] ... thanks

I think that end of production should be around 1964

prob true... interested in verified serial numbers with paperwork to verify.... i see very few listed anywhere on the net/ebay etc between 1039xxx [LATEST UNPOLISHED VERIFIED PCG I HAVE ON FILE] and 114xxxx,.. so i,m going to guess its somewhere between those 2 numbers...

Those are pointed. There’s an overlap…

You see the same on subs, pointed vs rounded.

That is not a pointed crown guard, but the result of poor polishing.
