Bad idea to put new (jagged metal) bezel (NOT insert) on polished vintage submariner?

Will it look “weird” or out of place to have a new bezel on an otherwise polished watch (with polished lugs, etc)? To be clear: I’m talking about replacing the jagged outer metal piece, not the black insert

It’s my watch I can do whatever I want with it. What I’m curious about is: will it look out of place? I’m guessing someone else has seen or done this

Thank you

No one will care. I promise you, nobody in the real world notices these kinds of things. Watch obsessive people on forums? Sure. But I promise, you'll likely never meet any in real life. No one is looking at your watch. And if they are, most likely something like a new bezel won't even register.

Let's see some pics of the watch in question.

But I echo the poster above--not a problem to do so.

I don't think that the bezel wheel itself has a really strong visual impact because so little of it can be seen to the naked eye when the watch is on the wrist. You see it, but the eye doesn't dwell on the bezel as much as the dial or the insert. So most likely it won't be terribly noticeable. Just out of curiosity, why do you want to replace the current bezel?

Helpful, thanks. Two reasons:
1.) because it’s so polished I feel it changes the look of the watch (I’m aware this is a tiny barely noticeable change). I have 4 subs so I guess I’m just acutely aware of what the proportions “should” be
2.) I just really like the extra sheen a sharp bezel gives to the watch

I just don’t want it to look like a Frankenstein watch (and clearly I notice tiny “imperfections”)

It’s not for other people - I *AM* the person that obsesses over the details and this detail bothers me which is why I’m asking and obsessing

I think it's called scalloped rather than jagged, if you're a details guy.

Do what is right for you. Why do you fret over other's opinions?

If that insert isn't original, that's where I would put my money first.

Given that I can’t tell ahead of time what the end result of this change will be, I’m asking others with experience (not opinion) to weigh in. If I knew how it would look at the end of the change I wouldn’t need to ask anyone
