Rolex Daytona Black Dial with Diamond Markers
I got a call today from my AD and mentioned they received a brand new 116503BKDO - two tone black dial Daytona with Diamond markers (pic attached). It was one of the watches listed on ‘My List’, but not one I was necessarily dying to get my hands on (to be fair, I listed 5 in thoughts they’ll call me in 2028), and definitely not one I thought would come in stock a few months new from factory after the request.
My internal conversation goes like this. I currently have a: - 2019 Submariner 116613LN (Two Tone w/ Black Dial) - 2020 Explorer II - White Dial - 2022 Oyster Perpetual 124300 (Green Dial) - 1976 Day Date with Matte Black ‘Pie Pan’ Dial I don’t know if having two, two tone watches is the move (understand the Sub is more of a daily driver than one with diamonds on the dial). I’m debating on trading in the Sub and EXPII (42mm is a bit big on my 7.5” wrist). I just wanted to see what everyone thought about potentially trading in a couple for/towards the Daytona, or just keep the collection growing. Thanks! https://postimg.cc/0KqGhkKd https://postimg.cc/K3r726nX https://postimg.cc/xqK3MzBs https://postimg.cc/0bPdfNs9 |

Do you like your Sub?
Personally, I would not want a diamond dial Daytona (or anything else for that matter). If I was more Daytona than Sub guy I may do that trade on a non diamond marker black dial TT Daytona.

Honestly between the 2 for me flip a coin. I think I like the TT black Daytona a bit more that the black TT sub, but I would prefer without diamonds, and then again prefer the 12 TT sub. Maybe get the Daytona and add the 124060 at some point.

Both are great. If it were me, I would add the Daytona. I have 4 TT's and they all get love. You could use the Daytona as a great go out watch.

Why is it on your “list” if you don’t really want it?

I’m guessing a dial swap can be an option in time if you do not bond with the current configuration.

I would pass on the Daytona. I am on my ADs list for a Black dial Daytona but not the diamond dial version. IMO, diamonds are nice, but they are better applied to a ladies watch. I'm not wearing a watch with diamonds on it.

I would pass on the Daytona. Not a fan of the diamond dials at all.

There are no two watches in your collection I’d consider for your trade option

It doesn’t really sound like you want it. But do whatever makes you happy.

I am becoming less of a fan of TTs in general, but I have to say with the black diamond dial it looks amazing!
