Tudor 94500 SN Question

Hi, all - I haven't posted on TRF in quite a long time, but I'm just getting back in to collecting after a very long break from it.

I just got a very nice-looking '80's Tudor 94500 Date+Day. It's got sharp edges and a great folded link 7836 bracelet. The price was great, and the seller is very reputable.

But - the serial number is only five digits: 94xxx, and it's off center (to the right) in relation to the Stainless Steel engraving directly above it.

I found a very old forum post that said Tudor briefly used five digit SN's ca. 1984. Can anyone verify this? I'm in the inspection window and can return the watch if it's not right.

Thanks!

There is some incorrect data about Tudor srls Ending on 990,00 and starting at 10,000 in 1984.

I have two after 990k.

As for yours, yes 94,000 range is fine (circa 1984) - here's a reasonably good chart (excepting the two points I made on 990k/10k of course).

Thanks! I was hoping that was the answer, I really like the watch and want to keep it.

I imagine I'll have to do a little explaining and reassuring if I ever try and sell it, but I'll cross that bridge when (and if) I come to it.
