AP Masterclass

Hi guys! I will be attending the Audemars Piguet Masterclass at Le Brassus on August 27th. Has anyone ever done it? Curious as to what to expect!

I've done it (in Miami) a few years ago. Mine was about finishing and decoration. A great experience. You'll love it! I expect it should be even better at LB.

I got to savage a piece of brass shaped like a case with different tools. There was the gentleman that ran the Service Dept over in Clearwater (I don't remember his name) and both him and I agreed that I could never get a job there

Also (and not least), great food and drinks! Got some nice goodies as well.

Awesome - I bet that will be fabulous. I had a go at some case finishing in Clearwater earlier in the summer. Was a great hands on experience.

Would love to have a chance to get hands on with the movement and give casing up a try.

Absolutely loved it, definitely do it and take it in completely. Learning about the inner workings of the pieces is truly awesome, and then being able to assemble parts of the movement really puts things into perspective. Same thing goes with the finishing classes. It really makes you appreciate how remarkable the pieces we wear on our wrists really are.

Is this an invite only affair?

Resurrecting a zombie thread:

Has anyone else done this recently or can post their experience? Would love to know how difficult this is to book in 2023 and whether it's worth it?

I went last year. Booked it like 5-6 months in advance since they offer english classes only once every few weeks. Totally worth it if you have the time. You get to make a loupe for the first half of the class, and then second half you make a movement (can’t keep it). You don’t get access to the museum though so you need to spend a night there if you want to go back a second day for that

I was there last month. Booking was a bit of a nail-biter. We booked hotel&museum well ahead while the tickets for the Masterclass in June only became available about two weeks before our trip.

One tip would be to contact the museum staff in advance, they were most helpful. If we'd just waited for the tickets to go online we probably would have missed them since there's just 4 spots per class.

The experience has changed a little bit, in the first part we worked on the an 11.59 case (polishing/perlage), second part was assembling a caliber 4302.

Definitely recommend the museum tour and a short stay at the hotel.

AP Masterclass

I did it recently in Clearwater. Had an amazing experience! Built a 4302 movement with the head watch maker- great guy!!!

I have lots more pics and details. Message me if you’re interested.
It’s an incredible experience and of course AP does it right!
