I loved my Hulk but it was just too much green after awhile. I loved it in low lighting when the dial looked black. In other light the dial and bezel green hue would clash like pink and red together. The Starbucks is absolutely perfection in every way. It pops green but the black gloss dial is so deep it contrast the green so much better than the sunburst dial of the Hulk ever could. The Starbucks feels every bit as special as the Hulk but does it with more of a cool nod and not screaming loud “green”.

I love green as it’s my favorite color but couldn’t ever get into the 11 series LV. It was just too much green and the larger lugs as well in combination with so much green killed it for me. In person I actually like it even less. Not to insult anyone that loves it, to each their own.

That being said green is my favorite color so the 12 series LV was perfect for me as a touch of green on the bezel and slimmed down lugs are much more livable.

I will say however, even now I debate occasionally with it still being a bit too much and swapping for a 16600. Had one and still think it’s my favorite Rolex. The black is often times just so easy to wear and just naturally classy and elegant where the green can be a little loud.

I never liked the Hulk. Don't care for the older sub design. Don't care for the sunburst green dial all that much.

Never spoke to me really. I don't hate it though. There's a few other subs I'd prefer first design wise.

Aah the old “I got gifted one but I don’t like it” hype drivers.

As you were.

Had the LV, great watch, but agree the LN is better. I like colors for a change up not a daily driver.

I tend to agree with the OP. I've never loved the Hulk/Starbucks. Like it? Sure. Love it, no. I much prefer blues for whatever reason and love the Pepsi. I wear a lot of blue so maybe that's part of it.

You know, back in the day, when the LV was in the early part of its run, we used to see threads all the time about guys asking the opinion of the forum on the watch, and inevitably a good number of posts would say (or words to this effect),

"it's great as part of a collection, or for a change up, but the better watch in terms of versatility and every day wear is the black bezel."

Now obviously, it's all subjective, but man, it's hard to beat black on black.

I bought mine in 2014 before any crazy hype. Back then it really wasn't liked much and was quite niche, the sentiment back then was who on earth would wear a green watch. I believe that opinion still manages to cut through the hype for some people and I respect that.

It helped that I only paid £5,200 back then, about 12% off but I was thrilled to pick it up having compared it against the 50th anniversary sub, the 16610LV - whilst I liked the maxi dial and the anniversary aspect, I just preferred the minty green of the 6 digit vs lime green of the 5 digit and of course the new case and bracelet. Just felt more modern / appropriate back then.

Always been a fan of colour and sunburst. Great watch for me.

Not so unpopular, I've never liked the "Hulk" my friend. Too much green kills the green vibe, according to me.. That's why the 126610LV was the one I've been waiting for! Perfect balance and coherence with the first LV..

The Hulk didn't do it for me from the day it was released in 2010, never a fan of the sunburst green dial and fat lugs. The majority of the people thought the same, until you couldn't get one anymore and they started trading over retail.

The Hulk is the #1 hype beast watch ever for Rolex. The 116500LN and BLRO on Jubilee were massive hits right from the get go.

The Hulk is a Marmite watch - you either love it or hate it.

When the watch was easily available back in the day in the display cases, I thought it was a cool looking watch.

When I tried it on, I thought too much green with the green dial.

Even today, I still think too much green.

When I saw the 126610lv, this just has the right amount of green to a watch and was able to get one at the AD.

Love the fact, the bezel matches Rolex Green on the catalogs.

I have had both. Probably unpopular opinion but I a had a hulk 3 times. I just couldn’t grow to love. It felt to cartoonish to me is the best Way I can describe it. Love it on other people just not me. I bought a new sub lv. Haven’t looked back. Love it

Unpopular opinion: hulk

I never understood the love for any of the green Divers. The Kermit, The Hulk, The Starbucks. I just don’t get it. Give me a plain black sub, any day!

It’s all a matter of opinion. I too prefer the LN.

In fact, I don’t like colour on any sub or gmt…prefer all black. I admire the coloured references for what they are…from afar.

I can see why the 6digit LN sub would be preferred as a daily. Love the piece but just too common for me.

I never liked the Hulk when I saw it on the internet. When I finally saw one in person, I was totally blown away by it. It is stunning. Absolutely stunning. I'd love to have one. And I definitely prefer it over the green bezel / back dial version.

A friend of mine had a "hulk" and was willing to sell it to me earlier this year for a good price. Way too much green for me as I am not a 'look at me' kind of a person. On the other end of the spectrum, I find the black sub the most boring, underwhelming timepiece imaginable.

That said, I really fancy the original 16610lv, but none of the newer versions. Ridiculous, I know. :/
