Question Yacht-Master 116655

Hello

I am living in Switzerland, but at the moment I am in an european country, holidays. I was recently in a boutique (official Rolex retailer) and tried this everose watch. And i think it’s really really beautiful and I love it. Of course, it was for display only. As the watch stayed in my head, 3 days after the visit, I wrote an email to the boutique and asked one more time for the watch. The same day I got the answer: they just received one the same day I wrote the mail and I could buy it, new and official price. I have never been in this boutique before.

What do you think? Am I just extremely lucky?

Usually before I buy a watch, I think and read a lot about it. Everything goes a little quick right now (my interest in a gold watch, trying it on, possibility to buy at retail), so I am hesitating. What are usually the waiting lists of this model? Hesitate more and put me on a list in Switzerland or buy it?

I am interested in some of your thoughts.

Yes, the 116655 was its predecessor.
I think opinions on liking this are 50-50. I have the 116655 and love it. It's among my favorites.
Finding any Rolex readily available to buy from an AD without any history is lucky. Not sure what the waiting is on this but why do you care? Will you like the watch more or less if the waiting is short or long?!

It can be bought on the grey market at about rrp so it shouldn’t be that difficult to get at an AD as it isn’t worth flipping, but if you want the watch to wear and enjoy then go for it - it’s your choice and your money.

I have one, it is one of my favorite pieces. Extremely versatile and just gorgeous. The 12 series has the mini glidelock clasp which is great for OF.

So very underrated in my opinion. One of the most beautiful and most versatile offerings from Rolex!

If you like it and can afford it without hesitation buy it. Why not?
Being offered at AD is always nice, but doesnt mean you need to buy all what they offer to you. But if this was in your radar, pull the trigger

I don't think it's got anything to do with luck. The watch must have been sitting for a while. Probably not claimed by any local and established client.

If you love it, go ahead. Demand in that EU country might have started to fall more than in Switzerland, where you're from. If you wait for it in your country, it might still take a while.

Awesome watch! So nice. Lucky you. I am waiting now for more than 0,5 and 1,5 years (two ADs) But I don’t have any buying history.

Congratulations, beautiful watch! One of my favorites in the catalog.

There is an advantage to purchasing an Oyster Flex model at an AD and that's getting correct sizing of the bands.

Fantastic piece, glad you got it. It’s definitely under the radar, but classy.
