How does AP AD Pricing work?

I currently have 2 Rolex that I acquired within the past 2 years and paid exactly MSRP for both of them from ADs. There is one AP watch that I really want (26394) and was wondering if anyone had an idea of how much those go for below MSRP from an AD? I've seen a few on chrono24 for around 15% below MSRP but would prefer to go AD instead of grey if possible.

AP boutique does not discount their watches. If you want to pay under MSRP go grey.

I don't know the current status, but not too long ago this was not an easy watch to get as first AP, even while grey prices were at or below MSRP. But in any case, there will be no discount.

How does grey get to go below MSRP? That would be selling at a loss? Especially here in Texas where the sales tax is 6.25-8.25% depending on the county you live in.

I'd probably go grey for that piece since it's quite a bit below retail, but if you want to start a relationship with AP then you can do try to ask them for it. As others have said there won't be any discount going that route.

A grey goes below MSRP because they bought it from someone below MSRP. Plenty of folks buy watches and sell at a loss when they no longer like the watch. Historically this was always the case with the exception of the last 5 years or so with hype driving up prices in the secondary market.

There is 0 discounting at AP boutiques (there are no AP ADs left AFAIK).

That makes sense, so truly a 2nd or 3rd hand watch. I was thinking in the case of all the flippers who buy from AD and then turn to grey market to profit.
