AP x Tamara Ralph: Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon Limited Edition

Just saw this. Curious what other people think.

Just a new dial and strap on the 26630OR. Might be the laziest collaboration yet.

Had to look up who Tamara Ralph is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamara_Ralph

Call me old, old fashioned or uninformed, but I am sick of "collabs" & "___ x ___." It's a marketing exercise in which neither party necessarily benefit. You could argue that the one with the "higher status" (AP) has to "go down" to the other collaborator's (T.R.) "level," thus denigrating one brand's reputation in favor of elevating the other's.

In any case, the watch is ugly & so is RG!

Looks nice. I’m not the target audience. No clue who that person is nor do I care to find out. Don’t understand APs strategy here, but whatever. Not my business. Just sell me SS QP and I’m done.

I mean...the collab before the last one was just different dials and yellow gold instead of rose. Then the last one they just did is just a new dial, difference color ceramic and a different strap.

Always funny to me that people get bent out of shape about watches not marketed or intended for them. Is AP forcing you to buy these? Is it about production resources being diverted from the watches you want them to make and are on a waitlist for?

bent out of shape? just saying there's not much unique about it, not sure that makes anyone bent out of shape...the alyx collab, bucci etc had a unique appearance, this one is just different colors.

i think saying it's just different colors isn't giving it much credit, unless they already had a dial with this effect? i think it's cool and something different from the rest of the concept line. i'm sure it looks even better in person

I think it's awesome, I'd wear it myself if I could afford it even tho it's marketed as a woman's watch. It's just a color variation on an existing model

It's a $200k+ LE watch intended for the minuscule cross-section of AP collectors and buyers of Ralph's haute couture. It also looks quite nice in real-life pictures.

We tried that at a boutique once; my wife and I thought it was pretty awesome. Wife thought the flying tourbillon was cute Outside of my budget though.

I’m actually cool with this I like the movement of the Tourbillion on the dial. It’s a 38.5mm but in a concept that’s wears large I’m sure.

I’m glad that AP is making lots of new models this year I’m waiting for the mens versions to drop.

I have been trying to hold off on an allocation just in case something insane drops. In mu price range of course lol. No code 11.59 grand complication for me 1.1 million

Im more the .1

Same boat here. Can't wait to see the new men's releases. I've held off on having the convo with my SA for this year's allocations as well until I see what the releases are. Have a budget to work around.

They are really milking the cow aren't they. Seems to me they are reforming the brand from an heritage to an fashion brand. That is not a good thing imo.

This thing still has FHB written all over it. Let's wait to see where Ilaria takes the company.

FHB and marketing department all over it. Lot of influencers in attendance, Carla Bruna with the one, Rita Ora as performer on the event...

Clearly not for me, but debate about the collab aside and purely focused on the look, I do like the watch.
I find it elegant, great color combination of different golds, nice strap, absolutely nothing offensive about it. Would definitely love to have the wife rock one of these when invited to upscale events, I think it's a fantastic choice for a gala diner evening...

Love the color combination and frost gold. It's bold and feminine in the same time. Would be cool and standout on lady's wrist.
