Should I expect a service soon if I buy a 10 year old 5726 annual calendar?

PP recommends a service every 3 to 5 years for the caliber of that 5726.
If the watch works within specifications, you can decide not to send it for a service.

When I purchase a watch which is over five years old, the first thing I do, if it hasn’t had recent service, is to send it to Henri Stern in New York for service. This may be overly conservative, but it works for me.

At that age, I'd factor a full service into the price I'm willing to pay, but I never send a watch for service that doesn't exhibit a need for one.
